Due to his recent surge in popularity David Walker may seem a relative
newcomer to some. However, this Londoner has been creating and experimenting
with imagery within street culture for the past 16 years. His first project
was designing t-shirts for The Prodigy in 1992 and he has never looked back.
Initially an illustrator and graphic designer within the streetwear and
underground music scenes, David joined the Scrawl collective in 2003
alongside established artists such as Nick Walker, Mr Jago and Will Barras.
He is a founder member of The Babylon Academy, who have enjoyed success in
Berlin and London with their anarchic pop up urban art shows. His work at
Banksy's Cans 2 festival was noted as a highlight. David has exhibited in
the UK and internationally alongside Nick Walker, Goldie, Inkie, RYCA and
many more.
Now primarily working with portraiture and using only spray
paint, his ability to capture his subjects' beauty in his rapidly evolving
signature style has attracted a keen group of collectors who have acquired
his work at auction, gallery sales and by commission.
